Dana Point California-September 2008

"Kaki" invited Garrett, Jennifer & William to join her on her exciting free trip to Dana Point, California, which is in Orange County between San Diego and Los Angeles. The hotel was amazing; the treatment was first class and the trip completes Williams back-to-back visits to the East Coast (NYC) and the West Coast before he turns 6 months old on October 7th. Unfortunately, Jackson was not able to make the trip with us, but luckily, he's still talking about his first trip to Disney World.

Birthday Weekend

Update from Garrett-
My Birthday is today, Saturday, September 6th and I could not have asked for a better beginning of the weekend.

Yesterday afternoon, I was surprised with an Awesome cake! It was a Saints themed chocolate cake, with raspberry filing and buttercream icing. (Jenn asked for the Cake Shop for a Fleur de Lis cake and .....I love this.........they ripped the Saints logo from the internet and printed it on edible icing!)

This morning, I was awoken by phone calls and email cards starting with my Dad's at 7:20 a.m. Next, Jennifer, William and Jackson quickly followed with several great cards and a really cool gift-a two-seater bicycle carrier for both boys to ride in as I ride my mountain bike. (see pictures)

Even though I'm turning 34 this weekend, last night I felt the urge to create a fun, 100% Kid experience in our backyard. It was the beginning of "Fall Backyard Movie Night". I rearranged our patio room, and, using my work projector and my laptop, I displayed a 4 x 10 foot widescreen image onto a white sheet I affixed to the South wall. So, with pillows and drinks at foot and in hand, we reclined and watched "The Incredibles" in huge high definition. We're planning to invite a few other neighborhood kids over the next time we do it and as the weather cools off. We're even thinking of showing a movie towards the end of Jackson's birthday party in October. Needless to say, we enjoyed it very much and I felt like a kid at an outdoor movie or drive-in! (Hopefully, our pictures & video show how much we were enjoying it)

Currently, we're just waiting for William to "eat" lunch (sadly, the menu hasn't changed in 5 months) and then for Mommie to get the rest of our stuff ready, because we're heading out to a bike trail in Milton to test out the new bike trailer! Whoo-hoo!
